FRANCESCO PIEMONTESI

Francesco travels to the Unites States this month to make his debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony at Heinz Hall on 10 March 2017. He joins the orchestra to perform Dvořák Piano Concerto under the baton of conductor Juraj Valčuha, giving a second performance on 12 March. Francesco recorded the rarely performed piece alongside Schumann Piano Concerto for Naïve Classique in 2013. The recording was highly praised, with Gramophone arguing that his rendition “makes you wonder if it isn’t time the Dvořák gained a place in the regular concerto repertoire.”

Elsewhere this month, Francesco performs Beethoven Piano Concerto No.2 with Vladimir Ashkenazy and the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana at the LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura on 23 March. He then travels to Sacile in Italy for a recital of Mozart at Fazioli Concert Hall on 24 March.

In February, the Verbier Festival announced its line up for the 2017 festival, which runs from 21 July to 6 August. Francesco appears at the festival on 26 July, giving a solo recital of Mozart, Liszt, Debussy and Schubert at the Église de Verbier.
