FRANCESCO PIEMONTESI

Francesco returns to London’s Wigmore Hall on 4 May for the fourth instalment of his Mozart Odyssey, which explores the composer’s works for solo piano. Francesco performs a programme of Mozart’s 9 Variations on a Minuet by Duportand Piano Sonatas No.17, No.7, No.10 and No.8.

Francesco’s earlier recitals at Wigmore Hall have been highly praised:

“An immaculate weighting of tone and fastidious articulation in every sense… The rapturous precision of his playing was at a pitch of intensity in the F minor Siciliano centrepiece of the Sonata in F, K280, but all the slow movements of the sequence stood out.”

“Piemontesi’s discernment of personality, style and context in these four works was second to none. He is a superb Mozartean… Piemontesi knows how to make Mozart sing… keeping true to the vocal quality of Mozart’s music. He has a command of timbre and balance and a disarmingly precise virtuosity.”

Elsewhere this month, Francesco performs in recital at the Dresdner Festspiele and Konzerthaus Berlin on 20 and 25 May respectively, performing a programme of Mozart, Liszt, Maximilian Schnaus and Schubert.
