Francesco’s Settimane Musicali di Ascona returns this month, and Francesco gives two performances on 15 and 25 September 2017. For the first performance, he joins the St Petersburg Philharmonic and Yuri Temirkanov to play Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1. On 25 September he performs in recital with Louis Lortie with a programme of Liszt Années de pèlerinage: Première année: Suisse and Deuxième année: Italie. Other highlights of the festival include performances from MusicAeterna with Teodor Currentzis, the Orchestre National de France and Emmanuel Krivine, the Aurora Orchestra and Nicholas Collon, and recitals from artists including Isabelle Faust and Nelson Freire. The Settimane Musicali di Ascona runs from 4 September to 17 October.
Elsewhere this September, Francesco performs Mozart Piano Concerto No.27 with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under Jonathan Nott in Annecy on 2 September.
On 22 and 24 September he joins Philippe Herreweghe and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra for concerts in Brugge and Antwerp, playing Brahms Piano Concerto No.1.
