Francesco makes his debut at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf with Alexandre Bloch and the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker on 7 July, playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in B flat major. Francesco’s interpretations of Mozart have previously received excellent reviews:
“I can’t remember when I last heard Mozart with such a deft touch, such a sense of legato, such subtle phrasing. In Piemontesi’s performance, there is some Brendel (other people have said it too), but equally some Gould in this clarity, this exactness, which avoids all mannerisms whilst never neglecting the role of sensuality in the work.”

Described by Classical Source as “a great Mozartian”, Francesco joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for Mozart concerto performances earlier in the 2016/17 season, and also recorded a number of the composer’s works for Decca Classics and Deutsche Grammophon in partnership with the International Stiftung Mozarteum, Salzburg. Later this summer, his recording of the composer’s Piano Concertos 25 and 26, made with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, is released on Linn Records.
