Francesco joins the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and Jan Willem de Vriend on 28 April to perform in the orchestra’s Hommage to Alfred Brendel. The ten-day tribute features former pupils and musical partners. Francesco studied with Alfred Brendel and has said that he had taught him “to love the detail of things”. Francesco pays tribute to Brendel with a performance of Beethoven Piano Concerto No.4, which he performed for his critically-acclaimed debut with the LA Philharmonic in August 2016:
“…an unaffected, alternately sparkling and passionately inward rendition of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, featuring Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi in his L.A. Phil debut… Piemontesi showed an unpredictable temperament all his own.”
