Earlier this month Francesco performed at Wigmore Hall, London, as part of his Schubert series in the 2019/20 season.

The programme featured Schubert 4 Impromptus, D.899, Op.90 and Schubert Piano Sonata in D major, D.850, Op.53 ‘Gasteiner’. Classical Source described his performance as follows:

“Piemontesi’s unfussy, rarely flamboyant style is a good fit, opening the floodgates to a range of expression and intensity that instantly reels you in”

Ahead of his performance, Francesco sat down with music critic Michael White at Wigmore Hall to discuss his programme choices and the parallels he feels between Schubert’s life and final three piano sonatas. Click here to listen.
