Francesco returns to Berlin this month for a recital at the city’s Philharmonie on 8 December. His programme for the recital focuses on Liszt and includes excerpts from his Années de pèlerinage and his Deux légendes No.1 St. François dʼAssise: la Prédication aux oiseaux. Also on the programme are Busoni Toccata, Helmut Lachenmann 5 Variations on a theme by Franz Schubert and Schubert Piano Sonata in B flat major, D.960. Francesco performs the same programme at the Frankfurter Hof in Mainz on 1 December.
The recitals are Francesco’s final performances of a highly successful 2017 that has featured his debuts with orchestras including the Orchestre de Paris, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Pittsburgh Symphony as well as return performances across Europe and the United States. He also released a critically acclaimed album of Mozart Piano Concertos with Andrew Manze and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He returns to the stage on 13 January with Marek Janowski and the Dresden Philharmonic, performing Bartók’s Piano Concerto No.3.
